Princess poses

After church today I asked Kathryn if I could take her picture.  She wasn't really in to it until I asked her to pose.  She told me this is her Cinderella pose.
Happy girl : )  I could just eat her up!  Doesn't she look beautiful?  A friend of mine, Kelley, found this dress at a consignment sale for me.  Kathryn and I are both thrilled by Miss Kelley's find!
 This is her ballerina pose.
 And her twirling ballerina pose.

Playing with friends

How cute are these 3 in their princess dresses?  This was the first time Kathryn and Annalise met and they were quick friends.
Grammy Lou sent us a picnic blanket and Kathryn had the wonderful idea to lay on it in the den and watch a movie.  She suggested we get "lots of snacks" for the movie and proceeded to go and pick them out and haul them in to the den.  We snuggled, snacked and then read lots of Dr. Seuss books.  It was wonderful.

Swim lessons

Kathryn started swim lessons last week.  Her last day is tomorrow.  She has done great!  We really lucked out because she had group lessons but there only ended up being 2 other kids in her group.
Her teacher is so great with the kids and she thinks he's wonderful.
Must have our goggles on at-all-times!
 Cutie-Patootie!

Weekend in Memphis

We decided to go on a last minute trip to Memphis on Thursday morning.  I started packing us at about 7:45 Wednesday night and we actually ended up with everything we needed!

Thomas was sitting in his little chair in front of the glass door waiting on us.  They were so excited to see each other.
Ashley couldn't get the Smart Cycle to work on the TV but no one seemed to even notice.  Kathryn just watched Dora and slowly pedaled.
Thomas got on the ottoman behind Kathryn so he was "riding" the bike with her.
I promise they were happy even though they don't look like it!
A few minutes before we left Ashley's house Ashley asked if Kathryn and Thomas wanted some milk.  I told Ashley we would just get some at Ma's house.  Shortly after Kathryn started crying.  We had had a busy day and it was very near "quiet time" so I just figured she was tired (and she wasn't communicating except to say she didn't want to leave).  We got in the car and a couple of minutes later Kathryn started what can only be described as her "cry-scream".   She was trying to tell me what was wrong but all I got was something about Ashley and good-bye.  Assuming she didn't get a chance to tell Ash good-bye I called Ash for her.  Kathryn wouldn't get on the phone instead she told me "you tell her.  Ash not give me milk at her house" (as she began to cry hysterically again).  All we could do was laugh!  She said that she was going to get milk at Ma's because Ash "not give her any at her house".  She continued talking about it the whole way back to Ma's.

Saturday morning Ma, Kathryn and I had a girls' morning of manis/pedis, shopping and lunch.
Kathryn is sitting to the right of Ma getting her nails polished.
I love how cute her little feet look hanging there.  They couldn't reach the toe dryer.
In true Kathryn style she had to have rainbow colored toes.
After dinner the next night I walked in the living room to this sweet sight.
I can only imagine she is being bossy to Thomas.
 Sweet girl <3
Kathryn decided they should play Doc McStuffins.  Here she is bringing Thomas to see the doctor (aka Ma).
Explaining to the "doctor" what is wrong with Thomas.  LOVE the hands on the hips!
Then it was Kathryn's turn to see the doctor.  Her tummy was hurting her, she "ate too much food".
After dinner we went out to the front yard and found. . . BABY BUNNIES!!  They appeared to have been born very recently.  They were just in the middle of the yard not hidden or covered at all.  Long story short, the mama bunny got scared off and never returned.  My sister got them and took them to a vet that could care for them and bottle feed them.
 I'm obsessed with this picture!!
Then later in the evening I walked in to even more cuteness finding Kathryn feeding "Max" his before bedtime snack.  She was being rather chincy with the goldfish but sweet Thomas was being patient.  (FYI, chincy is not an actual word but I looked it up and it is in the urban dictionary so I guess that's good enough for me ; )
He could only have food if she put it in his mouth.
This is a pic from about 2 weeks ago.  I walked by Kathryn's room at about 11pm and had to take a pic.  Not sure how this happened.

July 4th Fun

Thomas, Ashley and Will came to visit us yesterday.  Kathryn and Thomas ran to meet each other when Thomas arrived.  They played quite hard.

We grilled out at our house then headed over to our neighbors' house.  They had a ton of people over from our neighborhood.  It was great!

Trying to get pics of the "babies" in their matching octopus shirts. . .
Come on look at the camera. . .
Please look and smile. . .
No.  Looks AT the camera. . . . whatever. . . good enough.
The dads did some fireworks.  This was Kathryn's first experience seeing them.  The fireworks got totally out of hand.  They were shooting all over the place, they had some that you light and instead of going up they shoot a short distance in all directions!
"Look I'm Arrida [Merida]".
A neighborhood parade. It was the cutest thing ever.  Wish I could have gotten a better pic.

Kathryn and Thomas walked around the block holding hands and pinwheels.  Don't you just adore the pigtails from the back?
Such sweet little buddies.
When we got home I told Thomas and Kathryn we needed to wash their feet.  I left the room for a few minutes and came back to see this.  Kathryn acts like Thomas is a baby.  She says he's a "little tiny baby".
Left a few more minutes and came back to this.  Somehow this looks more like he's being her slave.
Thomas and his Mommy and Daddy headed out this morning.  There was no need to be sad because we had a few friends come over to play and have a small Fourth of July party.  Kathryn is OBSESSED with having parties, she talks for them for weeks in advance and months after.  There was a little confusion that it was her birthday since we made a cake.  She told me she wanted to open presents from her friends ; )
These PB&J sandwiches were supposed to look like watermelon slice but pretty much look indistinguishable.
Our flag cake.  Have to say it was pretty tasty with the fruit on top.
How did I only take this pic of the kids??  Sweet little friends.  Everyone played so great together.
